Privacy Notice

What we hold about you, why we hold it, who ever sees it, and how long it stays.

Version 2.0 · Effective 25 August 2026 · Pending counsel review

Who we are

The Intelligentsia is an invitation only global network. The Collective is its community. This notice covers the public website, the private area, our gatherings and the correspondence we send.

What we hold

  • Identity and contact details you give us: name, email, phone, city and country.
  • Professional context: role, company, industry, links you choose to share and what you write about your work.
  • Participation records: reservations, attendance, waitlist position, guests you bring and gatherings you were invited to.
  • Consent records: each permission you have granted or withheld, when it changed and where the change came from.
  • Correspondence: what you write to us and what we send you.
  • Technical records needed to keep the site working and secure.

Why we hold it

  • To consider a request for consideration and to administer a place in The Collective.
  • To run gatherings safely: capacity, waitlists, arrival, dietary and access needs.
  • To keep the house accountable through an audit trail of staff actions.
  • To send correspondence you have asked for, and only that.
  • To meet legal, accounting and safety obligations.

Consent is separate from administration

Directory visibility, introductions, marketing email, SMS, photography, video, audio recording, quotes, testimonials and partner or sponsor use are each optional and each granted separately. Withdrawing any of them does not affect your place, your reservations or the administration of your participation.

You can change every one of them in the consent center at any time. Changes take effect immediately for anything not already printed, sent or published.

Who sees your information

  • House staff who need it to do their work.
  • Other people in The Collective, only through the directory, and only if you have granted directory visibility.
  • Venues and vendors, limited to what a gathering requires such as an arrival list or an access need.
  • Partners and sponsors, only where you have granted partner and sponsor use.
  • Service providers who run our website, database and email under written terms.
  • Authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent lists.

Where information is held

Our systems are operated by service providers who may process information outside your country. We use providers who commit to appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

How long we keep it

Retention is set out in the Data Retention Schedule.

Your rights

  • Ask what we hold and receive a copy.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Withdraw any consent, at any time, without explanation.
  • Ask us to erase what we are not required to keep.
  • Object to a use, or ask us to restrict it.
  • Complain to your data protection authority.

Write to the house at privacy@theintelligentsia.com and a person, not a queue, will answer.
